Job Purpose:
To support the smooth running of the solicitor’s office by providing professional front-of-house reception services and high-quality administrative support. This role offers a legal graduate the opportunity to gain experience in a professional legal environment, build essential skills, and observe legal practice in action.
Key Responsibilities:Reception Duties:

Act as the first point of contact for all visitors and clients

Manage incoming calls, take accurate messages, and direct queries appropriately

Greet clients in a professional and friendly manner

Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area
Administrative Support:

Handle incoming and outgoing post and email correspondence

Schedule appointments and manage meeting room bookings
-
Prepare, print, and format letters, legal forms, and other documents

Photocopy, scan, file, and maintain both physical and digital case files
Client File Management:

Assist with opening, closing, and archiving client files

Input data into the case management system accurately

Ensure all documentation is compliant with firm policies and regulatory requirements
General Office Duties:

Order and manage office supplies

Support solicitors and legal assistants with ad hoc tasks

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Person Specification:
Essential:

Recent law graduate (LLB or equivalent)
-
Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills

Strong written communication and administrative ability

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Professional appearance and attitude

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Desirable:

Previous experience in a receptionist or admin role

Familiarity with legal documentation or case management systems

Working Conditions:

Office-based role 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
